Kansas City Off Road Racing Association brings seven divisions to Lucas Oil Speedway off road track on Saturday

Off road action returns to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday with the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association. Practice is set for 10 a.m. and opening ceremonies at noon.

Wheatland, Missouri (May 16, 2018) - Lucas Oil Speedway's off road track rumbles back to life on Saturday with the first visit of the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association and its seven divisions of competition.

"We just would encourage fans to come out and support it," said Scott Morrow of the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association, which he founded in 2013. Race classes include 170 Kids UTV, 1000 UTV, Unlimited/Turbo UTV, 1600 limited Buggy, Super Buggy, Formula 4X4 and Mini Stock/Bro Lite trucks.

Practice begins at 10 a.m. Saturday with opening ceremonies and round one of racing at noon. Feature events are scheduled for 3 p.m. with awards following the races. There is no on-track activity on Friday.

Those fans purchasing off road tickets will be admitted free to Saturday night's Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series on the dirt track next door.

Morrow said he founded the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association to bring short-course racing to this part of the country.

"We have some guys who have been with us since day one and some for the last couple of seasons," Morrow said. "We've grown every year with our numbers.

"We started off trying to draw in the buggy classes and the UTV classes," Morrow added. "Two years ago, we started a youth class, the Razor 170s. This year, we're hoping to have two buggy and two truck classes. The mini-stock trucks, which are basically 4-cylinder, 2-wheel drive are kind of new to the area.

"It has developed into four classes of UTVs and we're working on growing it for the area."

Morrow said KCORRA has seven events scheduled in 2018, including a second one at Lucas Oil Speedway on July 28.
